EV Charger Installation for Flats and Rented Properties: What's Actually Possible

A lot of renters and flat owners assume home EV charging simply isn't an option for them. The reality is more flexible than most people realise.

If you own a flat

If you own your flat, including shared ownership, and have access to private off-street parking, you can typically install a charger, and you're in the group the current OZEV grant is specifically designed for, worth up to £500 per socket.

If you rent

Renters can also qualify for the OZEV grant, but you will need your landlord's permission first. Most landlords are receptive once they understand it can add real value to the property. We're happy to talk directly to landlords on your behalf if that helps.

If you rely on on-street parking

This is genuinely possible now too, subject to local authority approval and a compliant cross-pavement charging solution, a small channel or gully that lets a cable cross the pavement safely without a trip hazard.

What we handle for you

Confirming your eligibility category before you commit to anything. Handling the OZEV-approved installer requirements and paperwork. A free site survey to confirm what's actually possible at your specific property. Installation of any major OZEV-approved brand including Ohme, Zappi, Hypervolt, Pod Point and Andersen.

Get started

If you've been told you can't get a charger because you rent or live in a flat, it's worth a second opinion. We install EV chargers across Dudley, Kingswinford, Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands. Call 01384 869399 for an honest assessment of what's possible at your property.
