CT Electrical Installations Highly Commended at the ECA Industry Awards 2026
CT Electrical Installations, the Kingswinford-based electrical contractor, has been named Highly Commended in the Best New Business Award at the ECA Industry Awards 2026. The ceremony took place on Friday 9 October 2026 at the Hilton London Bankside, as part of the Electrical Contractors' Association's 125th anniversary celebrations.
For a business founded in 2023, being recognised on a national stage alongside some of the UK's largest electrical contractors is a milestone we're proud of, and one that belongs to every electrician, apprentice and customer who has backed us from day one.
Directors Carl Bingham and Liam Tolley attended the ceremony in London alongside CT electrician Kyle Hodgkinson to collect the award on behalf of the whole team.
About the ECA Industry Awards 2026
The ECA Industry Awards celebrate the best electrical and engineering services businesses in the UK. This year's event was special: 2026 marks 125 years since the ECA was founded, making it one of the longest-standing trade bodies in the construction industry.
The evening was hosted by journalist and broadcaster Krishnan Guru-Murthy, with Alan Dedicoat, the voice of Strictly Come Dancing, compering. Milwaukee was the headline sponsor. Nominees were assessed by an independent panel of 14 judges led by Gary Parker, ECA's Deputy Director of Technical, with 33 member businesses reaching the second judging round across the categories.
Category winners on the night ranged from Large Contractor of the Year (Geoffrey Robinson) to Excellence in Innovation & Technology (EnergyAce). Helen Atkinson, ECA's Director of Member Services, said: "For 125 years, ECA Member businesses have represented the very best of our industry."
The Best New Business Award
The Best New Business Award is open to ECA Members with up to three years' trading history. Judges look for businesses that have shown high levels of professionalism, service and responsibility to clients, the supply chain and their own staff. Our category was sponsored by Luceco Group.
Being Highly Commended in this category puts CT Electrical Installations among the strongest young electrical businesses in the country.
What this award means for our customers
Awards are nice. What matters more is what they say about how we work. To be recognised by the ECA's judges, a new business has to prove the basics are right, not just the wiring:
Accredited and accountable. We're NICEIC Approved, TrustMark Registered, ECA Members and OZEV Authorised, so every job is backed by industry schemes and certification.
Investing in people. Our team includes qualified electricians and apprentices, because training the next generation is how standards stay high.
Doing it properly. All work is carried out to the current 18th Edition wiring regulations, whether it's a consumer unit upgrade, an EICR, or a full commercial electrical installation.
Our journey since 2023
CT Electrical Installations was founded in 2023 by directors Carl Bingham and Liam Tolley with a simple aim: give homes and businesses across the Black Country an electrician they can trust to turn up, communicate clearly and do the job right the first time.
Since then we've grown into a team serving domestic and commercial clients across Kingswinford, Dudley, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Sedgley, Wolverhampton, Wednesbury, Wombourne and the wider West Midlands. Our work covers EV charger installation, solar PV and battery storage, rewires, CCTV and alarms, and a 24/7 emergency call-out service.
Carl Bingham - "Being Highly Commended at the ECA Industry Awards, in the ECA’s 125th year, is a proud moment for everyone at CT Electrical. It’s down to our electricians and apprentices, who do the job properly every day, and to the customers across the Black Country who took a chance on a new business. We’ll keep growing the team and holding ourselves to the standard that got us noticed.”
Liam Tolley - “When we started CT in 2023, the aim was simple: be the electrician people recommend to their family and friends. Standing in a room alongside some of the biggest contractors in the country told us we’re on the right track. The credit belongs to the team on the tools. This one’s theirs.”
Thank you
A huge thank you to the ECA for an unforgettable night, to the judges, to Luceco Group for sponsoring the category, and to Krishnan Guru-Murthy for hosting. Most of all, thank you to our customers across the West Midlands. This recognition is yours too.
